Radio Kootwijk is a former radio transmission facility located in the Veluwe region of the Netherlands. This building is also known to the locals as ‘The Cathedral’, but the design, as seen from the frontside, also resembles a sphinx, with a pond between its legs. It was built in 1918 on this uninhabited terrain amidst nature, to minimize the interference of transmission traffic.
