If you want to travel like a local in Stockholm you should definitely hop on one of the SL-boats, which you can use with your regular public transport ticket. Make sure it says SL on the boat. You can ride it fom Nybrokajen all the way to Ropsten or hop off for example at Nacka Strand or Djurgården.
