Lumpini is mostly famous for his huge park. It's a 57 hectare park which offers rare open public space, trees, and playgrounds in the Thai capital and contains an artificial lake where visitors can rent boats. Paths around the park totalling approximately 2.5 km in length are a popular area for morning and evening joggers. Lumpini Park appeals to just about everyone - you'll often find the elderly practicing tai chi and couples lounging by the lakeside, as well as 9-to-5 workers relaxing on park benches or exercising in the evenings. On weekends, this green space is often populated by families and the cheery sounds of children. View from HI-SO Rooftop Bart SO/ Bangkok For the best view of the whole park, head to HI-SO rooftop bar at the 29th floor of SO/ Sofitel hotel. In the park, you can have nice views of the lake with the Bangkok's skyline in background. There are also good photo opportunities of flora and fauna at the park.Often you can see monitor lizards walking around, near the lake, trying to catch fishes or turtles. Around the park you can find some very good restaurants, such as Bisou, Vaso spanish Tapas bar, Babette's steak house, the Smoking pug, and Red Oven in SO/ Sofitel.
