Notre-Dame de Paris is an iconic medieval French Catholic cathedral situated on the Île de la Cité in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. Built between 1163 and 1345, it features innovative Gothic architecture with its rib vaults, buttresses and stained glass rose windows. Notre-Dame has been the centre of Roman Catholic life in Paris throughout its history and boasts remarkable religious relics, including the Crown of Thorns, a sliver from the true cross, and a nail from the cross. It has also been the site of numerous historic events such as Napoleon's coronation and the Liberation of Paris celebration in 1944. Today, this iconic cathedral remains the icon of the city of Paris and a reliable landmark for visitors; experiencing the magnificence of Notre-Dame is truly an unforgettable experience for anyone.
