Tokangawhā / Split Apple Rock is a rock formation located just off the coast between Kaiteriteri and Marahau in Abel Tasman National Park. It looks like an apple that has been neatly sliced in half by some otherworldly knife, seemingly caused by two feuding gods who were fighting to possess it (according to Māori legend). It's made of granite and estimated to be around 120 million years old.

How to get there: The rock itself can be seen on a scenic kayaking, waka, cruise or boat trip, but is also accessible via a walking track down to Towers Bay.
