This is one of our favorite, easy hikes in Lofoten. It's located just beyond the viallge of Fredvang towards Yttersand. The road passes a big estuary and heads towards the headlands where you'll see a big sprawling sandy beach on your right. There are just a few parking spots but once you arrive at the trailhead you'll see where to park.
Head through the sheep gate and be sure to close it on your way in. Also, if you have a dog, this a place where leash laws are strictly enforced by the local farmer who lives just beside the trailhead.
You'll follow the trail up the side of the mountain to your left. From there the trail will climb for 295m at a moderate incline up to the mountain bench. This is a quite short hike, just 2.5km, so it shouldn't take more than a hour to get to the top and the fantastic views of Yttersand, Ramberg and Fredvang.
Once you get to the top you can follow the trail out to the point for a fantastic view out to sea. Or you can continue further into the valley of Stokkvika, where you will find a beach and some old structures from when this place was a fishing hub.
There are many great campspots in Stokkvika and on the bench overlooking Yttersand.
This is a great, family friendly hike with good views and can be done relatively easily. It's well worth it!
