Lady Stair's Close is an exciting site located off of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Scotland. Built in 1622 for Sir William Gray of Pittendrum, this close is best known for being home to the Scottish Writers' Museum. Here you can see memorabilia that celebrates the lives of Sir Walter Scott, Robert Louis Stevenson and Robert Burns - all of whom lived in Edinburgh at some point in their lives. Additionally, the close also contains the Makar's Court, inscribed stones to important names in Scottish literature. If you're exploring the historical and literary depths of Edinburgh, Lady Stair's Close should be one your first stops!
