Duntrune Castle is a majestic 13th century castle located on the north side of Loch Crinan in Argyll, Scotland. Believed to be Scotland's oldest continuously occupied castle, it was originally built by the MacDougall Clan sometime during the 13th century. Every era has left its mark on this stunning landmark; In the 17th century, it was besieged by the rival MacDonalds and in 1954, it was renovated. It has also made a few pop culture appearances as the gateposts of Skyfall Lodge from the James Bond film of the same name were modelled after Duntrune Castle's. Enduring time through centuries, Duntrune Castle still leaves visitors in awe with its grandeur to this day.
