Rattray Head is an incredible destination in the uplands of Aberdeenshire, Scotland, home to an impressive lighthouse which has been a marvel of engineering since it was built by the brothers David Alan Stevenson and Charles Alexander Stevenson in 1895. Visitors can explore the beach and its dunes which are up to 75 feet high, with sand stretching for 17 miles from St. Combs to Peterhead. The Rattray Head Lighthouse stands tall at 120 feet, its fascinating cylindrical-shaped tower and conical basement allow the beacon of light to extend out 24 nautical miles. Its solar-powered flashing signal still guides vessels safely around the coast of Scotland, making it a historic and beautiful sight that's not to be missed!
